Cedar Bay Grilling Company bringing the best of Atlantic Canada to homes around the world! A locally operated company producing a wide range of frozen seafood products, primarily cedar planked salmon; available in Retail and Food Service channels. We are seeking Fish Processing Plant workers to work at Blandford, NS. 

Position Details: 

Position: Fish-Processing Plant Labourer (2 vacancies)

Location: 60 Gates Fish Plant Road, Blandford NS B0J 1C0

Terms of employment: Full-time (shift by early morning), term/contract/permanent

Wage: $17/hour

Job duties ：

• Feeding and unloading processing machines

• Loading and unloading items from machines, carts and dollies;

• Transporting raw materials, finished products and packaging materials

• Moving pallets of fish and planks to wet room using pallet jacks

• Moving soaked planks to packaging room using pallet jacks

• Opening cases of fish and placing the fish in tubs to thaw;

• Placing planks in tubs to be soaked

• Moving thawed fish to cutting room using pallet jacks

• Moving soaked planks to packaging room using pallet jacks

• Feeding flattened boxes into forming machines to construct containers

• Removing filled containers from conveyors

• Manually packing goods into bags and boxes or other containers

• Loading fish into cutting machines

• Transporting bins of fish from cutter to packing line

• Checking products and packaging for basic quality defects

• Assisting process control and machine operators in performing their duties

• Measuring and dumping ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines

• Placing fish and cedar planks on packing line

• Placing and /or adjusting labels on individual packages 

• Placing packages in boxes

• Placing boxes onto pallets

• Moving pallets to storage door using pallet jacks

• Quality control assurance-inspecting product to ensure high quality 

• Recording production data

• Other duties as assigned by management

Skills requirements:

No education required. No experience required. Be able to communicate in English is must. Experience working at a food processing plant is preferred, on site training will be provided.
