Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to provide exceptional care for an elderly individual in Markham. The ideal candidate will have experience in elder care and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for any side effects.
• Aid with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety of the elderly individual.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
• Offer emotional support and companionship, engaging in activities and conversations that promote a positive and stimulating atmosphere.
• Observe and report any changes in physical or mental health to family members and healthcare professionals as needed.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments, social outings, and other necessary activities.
• Maintain household sanitation.

Qualifications:

• Previous caregiving experience or a similar role is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Home Health Aide (HHA) are advantageous.
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle physical tasks and the demands of caregiving.
• Must pass a criminal background check and possess a clean driving record if driving is required.
• Provide professional references verifying caregiving experience and work ethic.
