Vacancy: Appliance Service Technician

Salary: $36.60 p/h

Hours: 30 to 40 per week

Job Location: 2025 Coutlee Ave, Merritt, BC V1K 1A9 and various locations in Merritt and nearby areas, British Columbia

Job Duties:

• Service and repair electrical and gas appliances, including domestic and commercial dishwashers, stoves, laundry equipment, and refrigerators at customers’ homes, business locations, or in the repair shop.

• Consult with customers or review work orders to determine the nature of the appliance malfunction and confirm service requirements.

• Inspect, observe, and diagnose appliance issues by conducting voltage, resistance, continuity, leak, and other diagnostic tests using appropriate electrical and mechanical testing equipment.

• Refer to schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, and product manuals to troubleshoot faults and perform required repairs or part replacements using hand tools and soldering equipment.

• Replace defective components and subcomponents, adjust parts, and reassemble appliances using hand tools, soldering, and brazing equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.

• Prepare accurate repair estimates, including parts, labour, and time required, and obtain customer approval before performing major repairs.

• Test appliances after repair to confirm operational safety, efficiency, and compliance with manufacturer specifications.

• Maintain service records, document repairs performed, and update work orders in accordance with company procedures.
