Job Description

Job title: Cost Accountant Manager

Pay: CA$90,000.00 - CA$100,000.00 per year

Job description:

Rocanda is an international chemical manufacturer with operations in both Canada and the USA. We have had exponential growth over the last eight years, with current revenue of over $200MM. This has bred a fast paced and dynamic environment in which we need a Cost Accountant Manager who would report directly to the CFO.

Candidates must have a university degree in accounting or related field, with a preference given to candidates with CPA, ACCA, and/or master’s degree. Familiarity with international incoterms, JIT manufacturing, and oil and gas operations a strong asset.

Duties

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

- Manage and oversee all other accounting staff

- Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures for accounting systems for improved accuracy and efficiency

- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data including inter company reconciliations.

- Lead and manage all aspects of cost accounting, including standard costing, overhead allocation, and cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) calculations.

 - Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team and analysts.

- Develop and implement training programs for new accounting staff

- Conduct account analysis and provide recommendations for improvements

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and budgeting activities

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions

- Perform other related duties as assigned by the CFO, including special projects and tasks that are aligned with the company’s needs.

Experience

- Bachelor’s degree mandatory

- CPA, ACCA, or master’s degree preferred

- Prior experience in a senior accounting position.

- Preferred 10 years accounting experience in full set of accounts.

- Prior cost, process, and procedure analysis experience

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

- Proficiency in using QuickBooks

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Solid understanding of payroll processes and regulations

- Experience with account analysis and reconciliation

- Familiarity with financial services industry is a plus
