Job Duties:

• Examine the suitability of manuscripts, articles, news copy, and wire service dispatches for publication, broadcast, or electronic media, and provide content, style, and organisation recommendations or adjustments. 

• Read and edit content that will be published or broadcast for spelling, grammar, and syntax mistakes, and shorten or lengthen it as space or time permits.

• Prepare work schedule and deadlines and encourage team members to meet targets to facilitate timely publication.

•  Plan and implement layout or format of copy according to space or time allocations and significance of copy.

• Design innovative and unique solutions to optimize routine news coverage.

• Plan coverage of upcoming events and assign work accordingly    

• May specialized in a particular subject area, such as news, sports or features, or in a particular type of publication, such as books, magazines, newspapers or manuals.
