Job Description

Location: Gander, NL A1V 1X3

Salary: $31.75 per hour for 35 hours per week

Overtime: 1.5 times gross pay after completion of 40 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment

Job Responsibilities:

  • Record financial transactions, update ledgers, and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial records and reports.
  • Handle invoice processing, payment management, and account oversight, ensuring that documentation is accurate and transactions are completed promptly.
  • Calculating and processing employee salaries, taxes, and benefits.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Accurately entering financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets.
  • Assisting in monitoring and tracking budget allocations and expenses.
  • Providing support in preparing tax returns and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Support the analysis of financial data and offer insights to management for informed decision-making.
  • Assisting with internal and external audits by preparing relevant financial documents.
  • Assisting with various financial tasks and projects as needed.
  • Managing and updating accounting software and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records and documents.

Role Eligibility:

  • A high school graduation certificate or equivalent is typically the minimum educational requirement. 
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting-related roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles, financial statements, and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail for accurate data entry and calculations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication to interact with clients and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage financial records, invoices, and receipts.
  • The ability to analyze financial data and assist in preparing financial reports.
  • Upholding high ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Being resourceful and capable of identifying and resolving accounting-related issues.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in accounting practices and regulations.
