Position: Landscaper (NOC 82031)

Number of vacancies: Three (3)

Wage: $   34.07 CAD hourly

Working hours per week: 40 hours

Work Location: 4407 LLOYDTOWN Rd Kinghorn, ON, L7B 0E1

Work setting: Various locations; Lawn care company

• Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work conditions: Day, Early Morning, Evening, Morning, On Call, Weekend

Terms of employment:Permanent and full-time position

Language Required: English 

Education Required: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience

Experience Required: 1 year to less than 2 years in landscaping residential projects. 

Job Duties: 

• Build models
• Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation
• Plan the incorporation of landscape structures
• Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements
• Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning
• Manage landscaping projects
• Prepare conceptual designs
• Prepare proposals
• Estimate costs
• Prepare presentation graphics and drawings
• Write specifications
• Survey and assess designated sites
• Prepare contracts and tenders
• Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
• Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions
• Assess the health of lawns
• Direct crews who maintain the health and appearance of golf courses and their surrounding landscapes
• Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease
• Plan and co-ordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses and other purposes
• Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens
• Plant and move trees
• Tree removal
