Job Description

Wage: $34.07 per hour, 30 hours per week, full-time permanent position

Location of Work:  Physiomed Rogers Road, 321 Rogers Road, Toronto, ON M6E 1R5

Job Description:

• Provide physiotherapy services that achieve and maintain optimal outcomes to our patients
• Assist in the provision of physiotherapy services under the direction and supervision of registered/licensed physiotherapist
• Assist patients with exercises, pain management and physical treatment programs to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, etc.
• Use mechanical traction, deep-tissue massage, electrical stimulation, hot packs or cold compresses, electrotherapy and ultrasound therapy (among other modalities) to relieve pain and improve circulation and flexibility
• Assist in developing exercise plans to restore, maintain and promote overall fitness and health
• Communicate with patients and provide support and information
• Document patient’s progress, conduct examinations and modify treatments when necessary and specified by physiotherapists
• Conduct treatment programs according to instructions received from physiotherapists such as passive/active range of motion, passive stretching, thermotherapy, hydrotherapy and electrotherapeutic techniques to rehabilitate patients with various conditions to maximize their independence and improve their quality of life.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of a college program in physical rehabilitation therapy or physical therapy assistant (PTA) program and supervised practical training
• 1-2 years of experience as a PTA
