Accountant

Responsibilities

  • Manage investments in direct trust accounts and determine financial objectives of the clients
  • Design, implement, and maintain accounting systems
  • Review financial records of clients and oversee balance sheets and profit/loss reports
  • Prepare financial information for individuals, departments, or companies
  • Create financial plans for clients and prepare reports and audit results
  • Draft financial statements and reports for clients
  • Suggest improvements to accounting systems and management practices
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with the income tax act, canadian business corporations act, and other legal requirements
  • Develop and manage costing, reporting, and internal control procedures
  • Prepare income tax returns based on accounting records
  • Assess and examine financial services and institutions to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Inspect accounting records for accuracy and compliance and analyze financial documents and reports
  • Provide advice on financial, business, and tax matters
  • Support in the planning and execution of financial audits
  • Conduct variance analysis and manage payroll administration
  • Manage financial records and accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
