Lions Gate Fisheries Ltd. is seeking to hire 20 Fish Plant Workers to start immediately.  We operate year-round with no seasonal layoffs.

Please Note: Our work location in Ladner is not directly serviced by public transportation. You will need to have your own transportation to the worksite or be able to walk 20 minutes along River Road from the last bus stop.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing

• Scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets, and remove scrap parts using a knife

• Cut sections according to specifications and place in containers for weighing

• Operate machines to process fish and seafood products

• Operate machines to package fish and seafood products

• Record production information such as quantity, weight, date, and type of products packaged

• Clean work areas and equipment

Skills Requirements:

Education: No Minimum Education Requirements

Work Experience: No Experience Required

Skills Requirements: Must be able to comfortably use a sharp knife in a highly-repetitive environment; Must be able to lift 40 lbs; Must be able to stand and perform work duties for an extended period of time; Must be able to work in a cold, damp, odorous environment

Job Details:

Job Title: Fish Plant Worker (NOC 94142)

Wage: $18.00/hour

Benefits: Extended Health Benefits (including Dental) available after 90 days of employment; Employees are eligible to receive up to an additional $5.00/hour in discretionary production, performance and safety bonuses (paid in accordance with company policy)

Hours Per Week: Minimum of 30 hours per week; up to 40 regular hours per week during peak seasonal periods

Overtime: Paid after 8 hours per day

Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent
