Experience

• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience, or

• Completion of a personal support worker or related course that includes a training placement

On site

• Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

• Work in client's home

• Caregivers may be assigned to more than one client and should be prepared to travel to different client locations as required.

• Assignments may vary based on client needs and schedules.

• Reliable transportation is essential.

• Flexibility and adaptability are important, as each home environment and care requirement may differ.

Responsibilities

Tasks

• Administer bedside and personal care

• Administer medications

• Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene

• Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk

• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties

• Provide companionship

• Provide personal care

• Shop for food and household supplies

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals

• Accompany clients to appointments and social outings

• Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

• CPR Certificate

• First Aid Certificate

• Personal Support Worker Certificate will be an asset.
