Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Personal Support Worker to provide comprehensive bedside and personal care for a single elderly woman. The successful candidate will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of this senior while maintaining accurate care records and effective communication with families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Personal Care: Deliver comprehensive bedside care including assistance with bathing, dressing, ambulation, feeding, and medication reminders in accordance with established care protocols.
• Companionship: Serve as a compassionate companion by engaging in meaningful conversation and providing emotional support.
• Meal Planning and Preparation: Select, plan, and prepare nutritious meals that meet the senior’s dietary needs.
• Housekeeping: Perform essential housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, maintaining cleanliness of the living space, and handling laundry to create a safe and comfortable environment.
• Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate care records and promptly report any changes in the senior’s condition to family members and supervisors.
• Communication: Ensure clear, consistent communication with the family regarding the senior’s overall well-being.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Proven experience in senior care or a related field.
• Certification in First-Aid is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with exceptional patience and active listening abilities.
• Ability to work independently and maintain meticulous records.
• High school degree or above

Requirements:

•    Legally allowed to work in Canada
•   Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
•  Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.

Experience:

Caregiving: 6months-1 year (preferred)
