Job Description

Fat Mao Noodles is located in the heart of Chinatown, Vancouver, BC.

We are a Modern Asian Noodle bar with focus on Thai-Chinese soup noodles.

Opened in 2015, it is the third restaurant of chef Angus An.

 

We are currently looking for a permanent and full-time Food and Beverage Service Manager.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a restaurant
  • Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
  • Recruit staff and oversee staff training
  • Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of staff who prepare bar menus and serve drinks
  • Selects and purchases liquor and other supplies
  • May plan and create new drink menus
  • Establish work schedules and procedures of bar staff
  • Ensures the bar is well-stocked and clean
  • Tracks customer behavior and sales
  • Maintains budget and monitors costs
  • Maintains drink recipe documentation
  • Oversees planning for special events
  • Overseas staff, including bartenders and barbacks, and, in some cases, bouncers, wait staff, and/or kitchen staff as well.
  • Control inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies

 

Skills and Experiences:

  • Completion of a college.
  • Must have a minimum 3 years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience
  • Must have strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills

 

Language:

  • Communication skills in English

 

Compensation and Benefit: $35.00/hour, plus tips/gratuities, staff meals, extended Sunlife medical plan (after 1-year continuous full-time work), 4% Vacation Pay
