Job Description

Yamato Restaurant is one of the well-known ethnic restaurants in Kelowna and surrounding areas.  Due to business expansion and growth, we are looking for a permanent full-time (40hr) Cook to join our team.

Your duties:

• Prepares and cooks different types of ethnic dishes/meals
• Maintains orders and supplies. 
• Assist the Chef planning menus
• Assist hiring and training kitchen staff
• Inspects and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices. 
• Ensures freshness of food and ingredients
• Check for quality and maintain ongoing standards

Requirements:

• 2+ years of proven relevant work experience in a similar setting or completion of a cooking program or a combination of these
• High School diploma
• Position requires shift work and flexible hours (morning, afternoon, late night closing, and/or weekends)

• Dedicated and hardworking; honest and responsible.

Remuneration:

• full-time 40hr/per week. $18 per/hr
