Job Overview

Ruby Renovations is a Surrey BC based Construction and Renovation company started in 2016. We undertake both commercial and residential construction and renovation work.

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tile Setter  (Tile Installer) to join our growing team in Surrey, BC. This role involves a variety of tile installation tasks across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in physically demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered
• Mix and apply mortar, cement, mastic, glue, and other adhesives using hand trowels
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure for adhesion
• Align and straighten tiles precisely
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power tools
• Apply grout and remove excess
• Replace cracked or damaged tiles
• Lay mosaic tiles to create decorative walls, murals, and floor designs
• Cut, polish, and install marble and granite
• Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
• Install tile strips

Supervision Responsibilities

• May supervise a small team (1 to 2 people)

Work Environment

• Exposure to dust, odours, and noise
• Physically demanding work including bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting
• Requires attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and ability to distinguish between colours

Qualifications

• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
• Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience preferred
