Elevator installer /PGL

Salary: $36.00 per hour, full time, minimum 40 hours per week, regular, permanent employment. Work setting: various construction job sites to install, modify, repair, service, maintain, upgrade parking garage lift systems for new construction buildings such as condominiums, government buildings, hospitals, medical centers, car dealerships, airports, shopping centers, etc.                                                                      

Requirements:

-        secondary (high) school graduation certificate and some trade, some college or industry courses in electrical and electronic engineering or elevator construction or repair. 

-        Minimum of 1 year of experience in PGL (Parking Garage Lift) fully automated lift systems.

-        Minimum EDM-T (Elevator Device Mechanic -in-Training) license required.

-        TSSA certification (Technical Standards Safety Authority) required.

-        Knowledgeable and experienced in installation and wiring of electronic control systems, hydraulic elevators, electrical and electronic controls, PLC (Programable Logic Control units).  

-        Personal suitability: accurate, organized, team player     

Responsibilities:

• Assemble and install elevators, escalators, moving walkways and dumbwaiters
• Read blueprints to determine work requirements
• Install and wire electric and electronic control system devices
• Install, test and adjust safety control devices
• Disassemble defective units and repair or replace suspect parts
• Adjust valves, ratchets, seals, brake linings and other components
• Carry out preventative maintenance programs to ensure public safety
• Maintain log books that detail all repairs and checks performed
