Assistant Manager – Food Services

Work Location: On site
Salary: $32.00–$36.00 per hour (to be negotiated) / 30–44 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
Schedule: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Holidays

Overview

We are a busy bubble tea shop seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Food Services to help lead our team and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have proven management experience in quick-service restaurants, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Languages

  • English required
  • Mandarin or Cantonese an asset

Education

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in the food service industry, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Experience in bubble tea, café, or quick-service restaurant management strongly preferred
  • Prior experience supervising a team of 5+ staff members required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily store operations to ensure efficient and high-quality service
  • Manage staff performance, conduct training, and support team development
  • Handle hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations of staff
  • Oversee inventory, supplier coordination, and cost control for ingredients and supplies
  • Analyze sales reports, labor costs, and expenses to maintain profitability
  • Support menu planning, product launches, and promotional campaigns
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, occupational health and safety, and provincial regulations
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment
  • Provide leadership during high-volume peak hours to ensure smooth service

Computer and Technology Knowledge

  • MS Excel
  • POS (Point-of-Sale) system
  • Inventory management software (asset)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be available for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts without restrictions
  • Food Handler Certificate required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Smart Serve certification is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license considered an asset
