Job Description

 

Location: 36 Blackfoot Rd, suite Office 1, Inside TNS Sherwood Park, AB T8A 4P4

                  (Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee)

Salary: $36.25 hourly / 30 hours per week

Overtime: 1.5 times gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school and training courses or a vocational program is usually required
  • 1 year to less than 2 of relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Physically able to bend, crouch, and stand for long periods
  • Effective in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills
  • Good hand-eye coordination and sound judgment
  • Strong English oral and written communication
  • Highly organized and reliable
  • Client-focused and a dedicated team player
  • Adaptable to dynamic work environments, including dusty, hot, noisy, and outdoor conditions.

Duties:

  • Inspect formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials.
  • Direct and monitor the placement of concrete into forms or onto designated surfaces according to grade requirements.
  • Fill hollows and smooth uneven areas on freshly poured concrete.
  • Operate power vibrators to ensure proper concrete compaction.
  • Level the top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
  • Perform work at heights, including on scaffolding or swing stages.
  • Apply desired finishes to concrete surfaces using both hand and power tools.
  • Provide guidance and training to apprentices.
  • Apply waterproofing, damp-proofing, and surface restoration techniques.
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
  • Estimate required costs and materials for projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
