Job Description

Job Title: Truck Drivers Supervisor
Employer: United City Cartage Ltd.
Location: 1191 Eglinton Ave East, Mississauga, ON L4W 1K6
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (30–40 hours per week)
Salary: $38.50–$42.00 per hour (to be negotiated)
Vacancies: 3
Work Location: On-site

Overview:
The Truck Drivers Supervisor will oversee and coordinate daily operations in the trucking department, ensuring timely scheduling of drivers, compliance with safety standards, and efficient use of equipment and resources.

Main Duties:

  • Supervise driver’s performance who transport goods to and from determined locations.
  • Allocate driver’s tasks and ensure that all trips are assigned and covered.
  • Manage the organize the everyday tasks and hold drivers’ meetings as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain all vehicles in top working order.
  • Manage database that details transport activities, financial accountings, employee schedules and personnel records.
  • Coordinate efficient maintenance schedules to keep systems running at peak levels.
  • Train drivers on company policies & procedures and monitor compliance. Instruct new drivers and provide existing drivers with training as needed.
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of company vehicles spot check the loading of trailers to ensure that it’s being done correctly and being delivered correctly.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers, building relationships and addressing complaints to avoid any issue which may arise.
  • Maintain adequate recruitment and work with administrative staff to hire drivers.
  • Inspect the equipment to ensure that the Safety & mechanical items are in good working order.
  • Work with the Maintenance Department to coordinate services & repairs to the equipment.
  • May perform other duties as a truck driver, in the absence a truck driver.

 

Requirements:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

  • Experience: 1–2 years in trucking or transportation supervision.

  • Language: English.

  • Other: Must pass a criminal record check.

Strong communication skills, flexibility, organizational ability, teamwork, and reliability.
