Job Description

Medical Administrative Assistant

Employer: Grewal physiotherapy Corp DBA Arrow Physiotherapy Clinic
Job Location: #206 6321 King George Blvd, Surrey, BC, V3X 1G1

Salary: $24.00 hourly

Terms of employment: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Positions available: 2

Language: English

Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience

Education: Completion of Secondary

Start date: As soon as possible

 

Job Duties:

  • Assist patients in scheduling appointments with healthcare providers, either by phone, in person, or through an electronic scheduling system.
  • Greet patients, verify their personal information, collect insurance details, and update or create patient records.
  • Handle medical billing tasks, including processing insurance claims, coding procedures for billing, and addressing billing inquiries from patients or insurance companies.
  • Determine and establish office procedures and routines
  • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and provide information or direct inquiries to the appropriate staff.
  • Organize and maintain medical records, both electronically and in physical files. Enter and update patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with administrative tasks such as document preparation, report generation, and data analysis.
  • Order and manage office supplies, ensuring that essential items are stocked and readily available.
  • Follow up with patients regarding appointment reminders, test results, and other important healthcare information.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and maintain the security of sensitive medical and personal information.
  • Address patient concerns or issues and, when necessary, escalate them to the appropriate healthcare staff.
