Responsibilities

Tasks

• Install insulation systems on HVAC ducting, chilled water lines, and industrial piping in complex mechanical setups.
• Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and mechanical layouts to plan insulation application accurately.
• Measure, cut, and fit specialized insulation materials (mineral wool, fiberglass, elastomeric foam) to precise specifications.
• Apply protective cladding and jacketing systems (aluminum, stainless steel, PVC) for mechanical and environmental protection.
• Install and seal vapor barriers and fire-rated insulation systems to control condensation and meet safety codes.
• Perform insulation work on high-temperature and low-temperature systems, ensuring optimal thermal performance.
• Work in confined spaces and elevated structures, following industry-standard safety and access procedures.
• Coordinate with mechanical trades (pipefitters, HVAC installers) to integrate insulation with system installations.
• Inspect and troubleshoot insulation systems to identify heat loss, condensation risks, or installation defects.
• Remove, repair, and replace insulation, including handling regulated materials in compliance with safety regulations.
