Position: Senior Floor Covering Installer (NOC 73113)
Location: Markham, Ontario (On-site work required)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Daytime, Monday to Friday (Typical 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Wage: $37.50 per hour

Language: English
Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant work experience in floor covering installation

Work Setting:

• On-site work at various locations

• Work must be completed at the physical location

• Relocation costs are not covered by the employer

• Willingness to relocate is considered an asset

Main Duties:

• Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered

• Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding

• Measure, cut, and install carpeting on floors

• Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings

• Prepare and install hardwood floors

• Stretch carpeting using knee kickers and other equipment

• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings

• Inspect assemblies for alignment, symmetry, dimensions, fit, and quality of workmanship

Installation Specialization:

• Vinyl or resilient tiles / sheets

• Hardwood strip flooring

• Carpets / rugs

Work Conditions & Physical Capabilities:

• Physically demanding

• Bending, crouching, kneeling

• Hand-eye coordination

Transportation Requirements:

• Valid driver’s licence

• Own transportation and vehicle

Security and Safety:

• Criminal record check

• Driver’s licence validity check
