Position: Nanny

Location of Work: Mississauga, Ontario

We will provide:

  • Salary: $21.50 per hour
  • Paid vacation of 2 Weeks each year or 4% of salary
  • 30 to 40 hours/week throughout your employment period

 

Duties

  • Look after and monitor the well-being of a toddler (aged 2–3) within the employer's private residence, ensuring constant attention and a nurturing atmosphere throughout the workday.
  • Assist the child with daily grooming routines including washing, dressing, brushing teeth, and encouraging independent personal hygiene habits appropriate for their developmental stage.
  • Prepare and provide balanced, nutritious snacks and meals suited to the child's dietary needs and age, including managing any food sensitivities or preferences as directed by the parents.
  • Organize and lead stimulating, age-suitable learning activities such as storytelling, arts and crafts, singing, imaginative play, and outdoor exploration to encourage cognitive and motor skill growth.
  • Establish and follow consistent daily schedules for mealtimes, naps, active play, and quiet time in accordance with the parents' instructions and the child's routine.
  • Foster the child's emotional confidence and social interaction skills by encouraging sharing, communication, positive behaviour, and gentle conflict resolution techniques as guided by the parents.
  • Ensure the home environment remains clean, hazard-free, and secure for the child at all times, including childproofing living and play spaces and removing potential safety risks.
  • Accompany the child to scheduled appointments, recreational programs, park visits, and other outings, ensuring safe transportation and supervision during all off-site activities.
  • Observe and document the child's daily routines, developmental progress, behavioural patterns, and any health-related concerns, and communicate updates regularly to the parents.
  • Apply age-appropriate guidance and behavioural boundaries using positive reinforcement methods consistent with the discipline approach outlined by the parents.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to minor injuries, illnesses, or emergencies, administering basic first aid when necessary and notifying the parents immediately of any incidents.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum High School
  • Work Experience: Minimum one month to six months of work experience as a Nanny
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Ability to legally work in Canada
