Job Description

Duties:

  • Interpret welding instructions, repair specifications, and work orders related to truck frames, trailers, and metal components.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to repair and fabricate metal parts used in trucks and heavy vehicles.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, repair diagrams, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
  • Inspect welds to ensure they meet safety standards and structural specifications for heavy-duty vehicle repairs.
  • Use flame-cutting equipment to remove damaged metal sections or cut replacement parts for truck repairs.
  • Operate metal forming equipment such as brakes, shears, and bending machines to shape steel parts used in truck bodies, frames, and trailers.
  • Operate pre-set welding machines to fabricate, reinforce, or repair truck frames, brackets, and metal assemblies.
  • Use brazing or soldering equipment to bond metal components or fill cracks, seams, and holes in truck parts.
  • Start, monitor, adjust, and shut down welding machines or automated welding systems used in the truck repair process.
  • Maintain welding tools and equipment and follow shop safety procedures during truck repair and fabrication work.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Work in a dusty, noisy, and physically demanding repair shop environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence for moving vehicles or equipment within the worksite.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting repair and production deadlines.
  • Capable of handling heavy loads, metal parts, and welding equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure welds meet safety and quality standards.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills to understand instructions, safety procedures, and work orders.

Salary: $36.25 hourly / 30 hours per week

Overtime:1.5 times gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
