Job Title: EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR ASSISTANT (ECEA)

No of Vacancies: 1

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time (Overtime, Weekend, if required).

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Work Address: 13508 106 Ave, Surrey, British Columbia, V3T 2C5

Wage rate: $23.50 per hour, for 40.00 hours a week

Education: Secondary School is required. 

Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.

Certification: Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) certificate is required.

Languages: Basic English

Job Duties:

  • Assist early childhood educators in implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

  • Support the planning and organization of activities designed to meet the developmental needs of children.

  • Provide care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, bathing, and supervising daily routines.

  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing, crafts, and play to encourage learning and creativity.

  • Encourage children to participate in art, music, dramatic play, and physical activities.

  • Guide and assist children in developing proper hygiene, eating, dressing, and toileting habits.

  • Observe children for signs of learning or behavioural challenges and report concerns to early childhood educators or supervisors.

  • Assist in maintaining records of children’s progress, activities, and behaviour.

  • Prepare snacks and organize rooms and equipment for meals, activities, and rest periods.

  • Maintain daycare equipment and ensure play areas are clean, safe, and well organized.

  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children at all times.

  • Assist in maintaining a positive and supportive childcare environment.
