Licensed Optician - Tri Vision Optical

Job details
Location: 225 Fairview Drive, Brantford, ON N3R 7E3
Work location: On site
Salary: 36.00 hourly / 35 to 40 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time
Start Date: Starts as soon as possible

Job Requirements
Languages:
English
Education:
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience:
3 years to less than 5 years
On site:
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities-Mandatory good standing with the College of Opticians of Ontario as a Registered Optician with Active status

Tasks

  • Interpret prescriptions provided by optometrists or ophthalmologists to determine appropriate eyewear specifications
  • Assist clients in selecting eyeglass frames and lenses based on prescription, facial features, and lifestyle needs
  • Take precise measurements, including pupillary distance and segment height, using optical instruments
  • Recommend suitable lens types, coatings, and treatments such as anti-reflective and UV protection
  • Fit, adjust, and dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses to ensure proper vision correction and comfort
  • Verify completed eyewear to ensure accuracy with prescribed specifications and quality standards
  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments to frames, including tightening, reshaping, and replacing components
  • Educate clients on the proper use, care, and maintenance of eyewear and contact lenses
  • Maintain accurate client records, including prescriptions, measurements, and order details
  • Coordinate with optical laboratories to process orders and ensure timely delivery
