Job Title: Construction Electrician Helper

Location: Surrey, BC

Salary: $25.00/Hour for 30-40 hours per week

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Job Description:

Electrico Systems is looking for electrician helpers responsible for assisting senior electricians with basic electrical systems installation, repair, and maintenance. They perform the more routine tasks of the electrical trade, taking direction from and under the supervision of the senior electrician.

Job Duties:

• Assist in installing electrical equipment, systems and controls including wiring, circuit breakers and lighting fixtures
• Follow all relevant safety codes and guidelines while assisting with the installation and servicing of electrical equipment
• Take instructions from senior electrician to complete electrical projects
• Ensure that all necessary tools are on site and readily available during the project
• Keep electrical parts and materials organized and transport tools and materials to the electrician as needed
• Assist with cleaning and preparing the workspace for the electrician
• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools
• Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections, using hand tools

Job Requirements:

• Education: None
• Language: Must be able to communicate in basic English
• Experience: Some previous experience in electrical field is usually needed

Skills and Qualifications:

• Perceive depth well and can identify and distinguish electrical materials at varying distances
• Able to climb ladders and stairs and may lift up to 50 pounds
• Understands and respects his role as an assistant to the supervising electrician and follows directions and instructions accordingly
