Job Description

• Hand-harvest a variety of vegetables at the appropriate stage of maturity, ensuring minimal damage and maintaining product quality standards
• Pick, sort, and grade vegetables based on size, colour, ripeness, and overall quality requirements
• Remove and discard damaged, diseased, or overripe produce during harvesting and packing processes
• Pack vegetables into containers, cartons, or crates according to company specifications and market requirements
• Label, weigh, and prepare harvested produce for storage, sale, or transportation
• Load, unload, and transfer harvested produce, crates, supplies, and equipment within the greenhouse and storage areas
• Transport produce to designated packing or storage areas using carts or other manual handling equipment
• Clean and sanitize racks, trays, harvest bins, tools, and work areas to maintain hygiene and food safety standards
• Perform general cleanup of greenhouse, growing, and packing areas to ensure a safe and organized work environment
• Assist with routine greenhouse operations such as watering, pruning, spacing, and crop maintenance
• Support preparation of planting beds, including soil conditioning, planting, and replanting activities
• Assist with basic maintenance of greenhouse structures, irrigation systems, and farming equipment
• Monitor crops for signs of pests, disease, or irregular growth and report issues to supervisors
• Follow all workplace safety procedures, use protective equipment as required, and adhere to supervisor instructions
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, including standing, bending, lifting, and working in varying weather or greenhouse conditions
