ASR DRYWALL is currently hiring Drywall Finishers

Job Title: Drywall Finisher
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Wage: $30.00 per hour (35 hours per week)
Vacancies: 2
Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Duties:

• Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster on walls and ceilings 
• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints 
• Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets 
• Position and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists 
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife 
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound 
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners 
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place panels 
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry 

Work Environment:

• Dusty, noisy, and outdoor conditions 
• Physically demanding 
• Repetitive tasks including bending, crouching, kneeling 
• Handling heavy loads (up to 45 kg / 100 lbs) 

Requirements:

• Secondary school graduation certificate 
• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall finishing or related construction work 
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions 

Required Tools/Equipment:

• Safety glasses/goggles 
• Steel-toed safety boots 
• Ear plugs 
• Gloves
