GRAPHICS TECHNICIAN

Position Overview

AdWave Inc. is seeking a detail?oriented and technically skilled Graphic Technician to support our digital, print, and multimedia production workflows. The ideal candidate has strong creative accuracy, technical proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Main Duties

The Graphic Technician will perform some or all of the following duties:

• Review and interpret graphic designer instructions, sketches, and project specifications
• Create artwork utilizing hand lettering techniques
• Mount and scan photographs
• Create stencil patterns.
• Set type for printing
• Develop project designs
• Organize project printing and publication
• Assist in developing and producing design concepts for print, digital, and multimedia formats
• Capture and prepare elements such as titles, text, drawings, illustrations, graphics, and lettering using computer software
• Produce computerized images, drawings, and digital assets
• Edit, Digitize images using scanners, tablets, or specialized peripherals and enhance them using retouching systems or graphic palettes
• Perform layout, page make?up, and placement based on conceptual mock?ups
• Produce proofs, camera?ready materials, and prepress files for production
• Prepare film, digital files, and other prepress materials for printing or electronic publishing
• Digitally color or paint 2?D or 3?D animated drawings using electronic palettes 
• Lay out, draw, or paint letters, logos, figures, and designs for advertisements, publications, signage, and digital media
• Work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment with designers, editors, and production staff

Employment Requirements

• A college diploma in commercial or graphic arts, computer graphics, or animated design is required
• Experience or training in multimedia design at a post?secondary, college, or technical institution may be required
• Creative ability and artistic talent, as demonstrated by a portfolio of work, are required.
• And Progression to graphic designer positions is possible with experience or supplementary training.
