Permanent Position: Cook

Number of Positions: 1

Wage Rate: $22.50 per hour for 40 hours per week.

Job Type: Early morning, Evening, Day, Weekend, Overtime required

Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

Work Location: 3945 Johnston Road suite A, Port Alberni, British Columbia V9Y 5N4

Job Duties:

• Plan menus and estimate food requirements for daily operations
• Prepare and cook complete meals and individual food items including burritos, tacos, bowls, quesadillas, and other menu offerings
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances while following food safety standards
• Prepare and cook special meals as per customers requirement.
• Set up and stock workstations with ingredients, sauces, toppings, and supplies before and during service
• Operate kitchen equipment including flat grills and food preparation equipment safely and efficiently
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment and assist with receiving and stocking deliveries
• Train kitchen staff and helpers in food preparation, cooking, sanitation, and safe food handling procedures
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers during food preparation and service
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards
• Manage kitchen operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment

Requirements:

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate 

Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and attention to detail.

Fluent in English
