Job Title: Pest Control Technician

No. of Vacancies: 2

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.

Work Location: 20 Nisutlin Dr Whitehorse, Yukon Y1A 3S5

Wage rate: $26/hour for 32 to 40 hours/week.

Education: Secondary (high) School Graduation Certificate.

Experience: Experience an asset. Will train and get certification.

Language: English.

Job Duties: 

• Inspect residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal properties to identify pest infestations, breeding sites, and environmental conditions contributing to pest activity.
• Conduct pest monitoring surveys and collect field data related to insects, rodents, mosquitoes, and other pests.
• Apply pesticides, larvicides, baits, traps, and other pest control treatments in accordance with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs and regulatory requirements.
• Operate and maintain pest control equipment, sprayers, foggers, monitoring devices, and service vehicles.
• Identify pest species and assess infestation levels to determine appropriate treatment methods and control measures.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, treatments performed, pesticide usage, and monitoring results.
• Educate clients on pest prevention practices, sanitation measures, and environmental management techniques to reduce future infestations.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company protocols regarding pesticide handling, storage, transportation, and application.
• Monitor treatment effectiveness and conduct follow-up inspections to ensure successful pest management outcomes.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings to supervisors, clients, and regulatory agencies as required.
