Welder

Wage: $37.50 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time

Requirements

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 2 years
• Experience in heavy-duty truck and trailer repair is preferred.

Job Duties

• Inspect damaged truck and trailer parts and determine appropriate repair methods.
• Repair cracks, broken frames, trailer bodies, bumpers, hitches, lift gates, and other structural components of commercial vehicles and equipment.
• Fabricate and assemble metal parts and components required for fleet maintenance and modifications.
• Cut, shape, grind, and prepare metal using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance welding to reinforce and extend the service life of fleet assets.
• Conduct emergency welding repairs to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous transportation operations.
• Ensure all welding work complies with company standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable safety regulations.
• Inspect completed welds for quality, structural integrity, and conformance to specifications.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
• Collaborate with mechanics and maintenance staff to diagnose issues and complete repairs efficiently.
• Maintain records of repairs, materials used, and work performed.
• Assist in ordering and organizing welding supplies, materials, and replacement parts as required.
