Job Description

Job Title: Automobile Mechanic

Employer: White Elephant Holdings Ltd. DBA Value Motors & Car Rentals/ Value Auto Collision and Repair

Location:7127 King George Blvd, Surrey, British Columbia, V3W 5A4

Salary:  $38.50 hourly / 32 hours

Vacancies: 2

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, full-time

Start: As soon as possible

Employment conditions: Day, Evening, and Morning shifts


Job requirements: (On site) Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduate certificate

Experience: 1 year or more years of work experience

Specific Skills: 

  • Inspect and test mechanical systems and components of pre-owned vehicles, including engines, transmissions, axles, suspension, steering, and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine the repairs or replacement of components required to ensure vehicles meet Value Motors' quality and safety standards.
  • Repair, adjust, or replace defective automotive components using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized service equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and scheduled servicing on vehicles, including fluid changes, brake servicing, battery checks, and other maintenance required to prepare vehicles for sale and customer delivery.
  • Test and adjust repaired vehicle systems and conduct road tests to verify proper performance and operation.
  • Inspect vehicles acquired for Value Motors' inventory and identify mechanical repairs and maintenance required before they are offered for sale.
  • Estimate parts and labour requirements for vehicle repairs and communicate repair recommendations and inspection findings to the supervisor.
  • Complete detailed work orders, inspection reports, and service records documenting vehicle problems, repairs performed, parts replaced, and maintenance completed.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, dealership procedures, and applicable occupational health and safety practices when performing automotive repairs and maintenance.
