Job Description

Work Location: 8385 rue de Reims, Montreal, Quebec H2P 2P5
Workplace: Private home of the person receiving care
Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time
Wage: $20 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance, support and companionship to an elderly person with daily activities;
• Assist with bathing, dressing and personal hygiene, as needed;
• Assist with mobility and accompany the person on walks and with other daily activities, as needed;
• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals, taking into account the person’s needs and preferences;
• Administer medications according to instructions received, when required;
• Accompany the person to medical appointments, outings and other activities, as needed;
• Do grocery shopping and purchase food and other items required for the person’s daily needs;
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties;
• Attend to the person’s comfort and personal needs.

Requirements

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in caregiving, senior care, home support or a related field

Language: English or French
