Truck Driver – Long Haul

Takhi Transport Inc. is seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver – Long Haul to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario.

Reporting Location: 5260 Bradco Blvd, Mississauga, ON L4W 1G7
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Wage: $37.00–$40.00 per hour
Hours: 30–40 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Duties

• Safely operate and drive heavy freight trucks to transport goods and materials over long distances.
• Load, handle, secure, and transport cargo, ensuring that loads are accurate and properly distributed.
• Pick up and deliver goods according to assigned routes, schedules, and delivery instructions.
• Plan and follow long-haul routes using maps, GPS, and other navigation equipment.
• Complete and maintain required transportation documents, permits, cargo records, and delivery paperwork.
• Inspect the truck, trailer, tires, brakes, lights, and other equipment before, during, and after each trip.
• Perform brake adjustments and minor emergency roadside repairs when required.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, fuel consumption, and trip details.
• Report accidents, delays, mechanical problems, or other issues promptly to the dispatcher or supervisor.
• Ensure that cargo is properly secured and comply with applicable transportation and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Secondary school graduation is required.
• Valid AZ Driver's Licence.
• Air Brake Endorsement.
• Long-haul driving experience is an asset.
• Ability to operate GPS and other navigation equipment.
• Ability to complete required transportation and inspection documentation.
• Good judgement and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to pass required background, driving record, medical, and other safety checks.

Work Conditions

The position is on-site and may involve early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, on-call work, shifts, and overtime as required.
