JOB OPPORTUNITY – LONG HAUL TRUCK DRIVERS

Position: Long Haul Truck Driver
Number of Vacancies: 5
Wage: $39.00 per hour
Working Hours: 50 hours per week
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: Flexible hours
Start Date: As soon as possible
Work Location: On-site

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy when required.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect tires, lights, brakes, refrigeration equipment, and other vehicle components to ensure safe operation.
• Perform brake adjustments and preventive maintenance as required.
• Monitor vehicle condition and report mechanical problems or safety concerns.
• Communicate regularly with central dispatch regarding trip progress, schedules, and delivery information.
• Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distances travelled, and fuel consumption.
• Complete and maintain driver logbooks, bills of lading, inspection reports, accident or incident reports, maintenance records, and cross-border transportation documentation.
• Operate GPS and other navigation equipment to plan and follow transportation routes.

Employment Requirements

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Experience: Previous truck driving experience is an asset.

Licences and Certifications:

• Valid Class 1 or Class A driver's licence.
• Air Brakes Endorsement.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver's licence and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to meet required drug testing and driving record verification requirements.
• Willingness to travel across provincial and international borders.
• Ability to remain away from home for extended periods.
• Familiarity with tractor-trailer operations, GPS navigation, and transportation documentation.
