JOB DESCRIPTION

 Location: Brampton, ON L6Y 0V6

Salary: $28.25 per hour for 35 hours per week

 Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise, plan, assign and review the work of dispatching crews; scheduling transportation crews and routes; and other related activities
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures for safety and security, standards and regulations in force and participate in their improvement
• Ensure smooth operation of computer systems, equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work
• Create shipping and dispatch records; keep track of dispatched calls, driver routes, delivery and pick up schedules.
• Identify problems that may impede trips and come up with solutions
• Manage billing and invoicing; responsible for ensuring that drivers have all of the proper documents and permits need to complete trips.
• Directing and organizing logistics activities that may include obtaining shipping rates or negotiating with service providers
• Prepares delivery schedules to ensure all required delivery times are agreed and adhered to.
• Prepares route plans that suit the fleet and allocates drivers to vehicles and enforces compliance.
• Build loads based on maximum profitability and freight to optimize load, schedule, and commodities within company’s guidelines.
• Troubleshoot during and after hours of drivers, who experience mechanical break downs or delays, make financial decisions to keep freight safe from spoilage and pilferage

 Eligibility Requirements:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is minimum education requirement.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the transportation dispatch or related industry is typically required
• Possess an understanding and working knowledge of dispatching software: fleet manager & trans plus and MS Office suite to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Customer service skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Knowledge of GPS systems and geography
• Multitasking skills
• Ability to resolve conflict and solve problems
• Knowledge of basic computer programs and aptitude to learn new systems
• Excellent communication skills

      Number of vacancies: 1

     Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

     Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

     Job Type: Permanent employment
