Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

• Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role
• Design and implement database in accordance to end user’s information needs and views
• Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
• Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
• Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
• Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
• Maintaining the efficiency of the database by providing regular checks and data updates
• Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
• Create scripts relating to stored procedures and triggers.

 Eligibility Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in information technology (IT), computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or a related subject is required.
• Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications for 2 years to less than 3 years.
• Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
• Familiarity with database design, documentation, coding, MS Office, word processing software, communication software and Spreadsheet
• Proven ability to make sound decisions, especially under pressure, considering both short-term and long-term implications.
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Analytical and problem-solving skills

Location: Oakville, ON L6M 2G2

Salary: $45 per hour / 35 hours per week

Number of vacancies: 1

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
