Job Description

Location: North York, ON, M2N 6S6

Salary: $34.15 per hour for 35 hours per week

 Job Responsibilities: 

• Install and configure computer networks, including routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of network systems.
•  Monitor network performance and address issues promptly.
• Identify and troubleshoot network problems, including connectivity issues and hardware failures.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to network security.
• Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Stay updated on security threats and implement measures to protect the network.
• Create and maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Keep an inventory of network equipment and resources.
• Provide technical support to end-users experiencing network-related issues.
• Utilize network monitoring tools to track network performance and identify potential issues.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and share relevant knowledge with the team.

Number of vacancies: 1

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment

Eligibility Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience required preferably as a network technician or related.
• Proven experience as network technician or relevant position
• Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication skills
• Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
• Hands-on experience with common software and hardware
• College/CEGEP is required as the minimum qualification; in computer science and IT or related field.
