 10 VACANCIES - TRUCK DRIVER - heavy truck 

 

Job title: Truck Driver, heavy truck

Location: 1191 Eglinton Ave East, Mississauga, ON L4W 1K6

Salary: $26.06 to $28.00 / hour (To be negotiated)

Vacancies: 10

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time40 to 60 hours / week

Employment conditions: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Night

Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

Experience an asset

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Driver's License (Class 1 or A)

Personal suitability

Flexibility, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player

Communication systems experience

Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment

Documentation knowledge

Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Tasks

Load and unload goods, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Perform emergency roadside repairs, Efficiently receive and transmit critical information to central dispatch, Diligently document cargo details and accurately track hours of service, Safely transport both finished goods and raw materials across land, facilitating port-to-port logistics, Maintain meticulous records in the logbook, encompassing mileage, rest periods, and fuel/toll expenses, Promptly report any equipment malfunctions, accidents, or regulatory violations, Perform emergency roadside repairs., Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle, Plan routes and meet delivery schedules to reach timely and quickly, Follow all traffic laws and maintain commercial driving licence clean & up to date, Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.

Security and safety

Valid passport, Criminal record check, Driver's validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Transportation/travel information

Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight

Work conditions and physical capabilities

Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Sitting
