Job Description

Location: Toronto, ON M5L 1E2

Salary: $28.15 per hour for 35 hours per week

Number of vacancies: 1

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment

 

 Eligibility Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required
  • Experience - 2 years to 3 years of accounting/ bookkeeping experience is required
  • Well versed with MS Access; MS Outlook; Database software; Data analysis software;
  •  Accounting software; Inventory control software; Computerized bookkeeping system
  •  Excellent English written and communication skills
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail are crucial for bookkeepers to accurately record financial transactions.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles, financial statements, and general ledger entries is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including transactions, purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements to internal records to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversee payroll processes, including calculations, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external use.
  • May lead and direct the work of clerical accounting staff
  • Overseeing accounts payable, which involves processing invoices, posting and issuing checks, online payments, and reconciling payments.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Provide support in the creation and monitoring of the budget.
  • Collaborate with others to gather financial information and address inquiries.
  • Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets, for management review.
  • Assist in tax preparation and compliance, providing necessary documentation for audits and filings.
  • Maintain organized financial records and ensure adherence to accounting principles and company policies.
  • Utilize accounting software and tools proficiently for efficient bookkeeping tasks.
