GENERAL LABOURER - FARM

Job Title: General Labourer - Farm (NOC: #85101).

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Day, Evening, Shift, Weekend.

Wage Rate: $18 per hour for 32 to 40 hours per week.

Vacancies: 8

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.

Location of work: 5582 Sumac Street Oliver, BC V0H 1T1
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: Not required. Training will be provided.

Language: None.

Type of crops: Vegetables, Fruits and Field crops.

Benefits: Accommodation will be provided @ $30/week. Relocation expenses & medical insurance for first 3 months covered by employer, if required.

Specific Skills:

• Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops.
• Harvest crops, Prune crops, remove weeds from the crop, sort & grade the farm produce.
• Field work, plowing, planting, weeding, cultivating, harvesting, washing, sorting,
• Examine produce for quality and prepare for market
• Set and monitor water lines.
• Detect disease and health problems in crops.
• Fertilizing and other duties related to agriculture stream.
• Sort and pack fruits and vegetables
• Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce

Essential Skills: Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Continuous learning.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling.

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Wet/damp, Dusty, rain/ shine, hot/cold weather (Candidate should be physically able and willing to work on the farm in rain/sun or shine).
