Job Description

J Hoover Ltd is a Site Construction services specialist company based in Uxbridge, Ontario. Our office is located at 2499 Concession 2, Uxbridge, Ontario L9P 0G8. We are looking to hire a Construction Laborer to start as soon as possible. This is a permanent, full-time position of 50-60 hours/week with a range of salary between $25-35/hour depending on experience. We also provide employee benefits such as health and dental insurance, RRSP contributions, and 4% vacation pay.

The worker will be required to work in various client sites throughout Ontario, mostly in the GTA area.  The language of work is English.

• Tending or feeding machines or equipment used in construction such as mixers, compressors and pumps
• Preparing site including grading and storm sewer iniitiatives, various walking surfaces, landscaping, including planting and sodding, installation of appropriate equipment, playground furniture and lighting
• Loading and unloading construction materials and move materials to work areas
• Assisting heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
• Performing other labourer activities at construction sites, as directed by the skilled tradespersons and supervisors.

You must have the following qualifications:

• Must have a valid AZ truck driver’s license
• Must have access to own transportation between sites
• Must have a clean drivers abstract
• Strong understanding of foreign materials that can cause damage and erosion to the surrounding terrain and infrastructure
