Job Description

Location: Georgetown, ON L7G 0J1

Salary: $27.25 per hour for 30 hours per week

Number of vacancies: 1

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately entering and maintaining financial data, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Updating and balancing general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Matching financial transactions with bank statements to identify discrepancies and maintain accuracy.
  • Monitoring and tracking outstanding customer invoices and vendor bills.
  • Calculating employee wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensuring timely payroll processing.
  • Preparing regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial record-keeping.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for financial improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments and team members to provide financial information and support as needed.
  • Monitor expenses and categorize them appropriately for accurate financial analysis.
  • Assist with tax preparation by organizing financial data and providing necessary documentation to accountants or tax professionals.
  • Adhere to financial regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance with accounting standards and laws.
  • Perform data entry tasks to keep financial records organized and up-to-date. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement.
  • Prior experience of a minimum of 2 years to less than 3 years is essential for this role.
  • Effective English communication skills are valuable for liaising with other departments, vendors, and customers to resolve financial queries and issues.
  • Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping, financial statements, and general ledger management, is important for this role.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel) is often required to efficiently manage financial records and transactions.
  • Need to be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in recording financial transactions and maintaining precise financial records.
