A private household situated in Abbotsford, BC, is looking to hire a Home Support Worker for their Elderly Parents.

Job Title: Home support worker (NOC 44101)

Terms of Employment: 30-40 hours per week, Full-time/ Permanent

Start Date: As soon as possible

Wage: $23.00 per hour

Overtime: 1.5 times the regular pay for every hour exceeding 40hrs/week

Vacation Pay: 10 days paid vacation per year.

No of Positions: 1

Work setting: Work in employer’s /client’s home. Optional accommodation is available at NO EXTRA COST in an event that home support worker wants to stay. Note: THIS IS NOT a condition of employment.

Shift: Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime, Early Morning, Morning

Job  Duties:

• Administer bedside and personal care.
• Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene.
• Launder clothing and household linens
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• Provide companionship.
• Provide personal care.
• Assume full responsibility for household (in absence of householder).
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals.

Education:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Completion of a training program in  First Aid certificate is required.

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year’s experience is required.

Language:

• English is required.
• Punjabi speaking is an asset but not a requirement.
