Location: Toronto, ON M5H 1A1

Salary: $34.00 per hour for 35 hours per week

Number of vacancies: 1

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment

 Job Responsibilities:

• Installing wooden structures such as roofing framers, joists, partitions, rafters, and stud work
• Designing and installation of cabinets, shelves, drywall, and insulation Adding fittings and fixtures including door handles, hinges, locks, and closures
• Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
• Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels.
• Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Liaising with clients to discuss project details, budgets, and timelines
• Working with suppliers to obtain necessary material while staying within the customer budget
• Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
• Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
• Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
• Cleans up worksite debris.

 Eligibility Requirements:

• A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is mandatory.
• Any related experience will be an asset
• Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications
• Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
• Proven experience as carpenter Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
• No language requirements.
