Required Manager, Transportation

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ARE LISTED BELOW:

• Planning and directing transportation operations of the entire company.
• Directs dispatching and routing activities and tracks transportation vehicles.
• Oversees the coordination and routing of shipments.
• Ensures that customer difficulties or problems are investigated and resolved.
• Negotiates and secures contracts with transportation providers and customers.
• Implements safety audits and trains staff members on safety issues.
• Maintains knowledge of best practices including the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods.
• Maintains knowledge of regulations related to transportation including those related to hazardous shipments, employee safety, and freight classifications.
• In collaboration with other managers, develops and implements policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations.
• Ensures compliance with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, environmental policies, and government regulations.
• Reviews and analyzes expenditures and other financial information; uses results to develop and implement plans, policies, and budgets.
• Hires and trains transportation staff.
• Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of transportation employees.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Key Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is required and a college diploma/university degree is preferred;
• Proven experience of a minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success;
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills;
• Good time-management skills; and
• Great interpersonal and communication skills

Salary: CAD$ 50.00/hour. Full-time permanent position at Right Lane Carrier Inc. at #25 – 6033 Shawson Drive, Mississauga ON L5T 1E7

Hours: 30-40 hours per week
